Half-day workshop – 11th September 2014
10am-2pm, Ash Green, GU12
We love our children to bits. And yet there are some days when the greatest warmth we feel towards them is once they’re sleeping soundly, tucked up in bed and we know that, at last, we can have some peace. We’ve struggled through a day which may have featured tantrums, fights, lack of cooperation, and perhaps downright defiance; and somehow, we’ve always felt one step behind, wrong-footed, powerless, as we lurched from one mini crisis to the next. We may wonder what on earth has happened, and why has it happened to us; wasn’t family life supposed to be fun?
If you want things to be different, if you want to feel in control, to have the kind of relationship with your children where they listen to you, and they trust you to really listen to them, where you can have fun with each other, then…well, this parenting skills course has been written with you in mind.
On it, you will learn:
- How to understand the needs behind your child’s behaviour
- Skills to improve your child’s behaviour
- Skills to improve your child’s self-esteem
- Methods to cope with strong emotions
- How to encourage your child to do the right things
- How to minimise sibling rivalry
* Emotional self-management for your child
These techniques have been tried and tested within 100s of families – and they really do work!
Sarah also runs a fortnightly parenting circle which is open to all for discussion and support around parenting issues
10.30am-12pm Tuesday mornings (next meetings: 22nd April)
